We currently have two Memphis-area locations:
· Germantown (Hacks Cross): 3131 Hacks Cross Road, Memphis, TN 38125

Q: What are your office hours? Germantown (Hacks Cross):
· Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Closed for lunch (typically 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM)
· Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Shelby Drive:
· Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Closed for lunch (usually 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
· Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Q: When can I access my storage unit?
Gate access is available at both locations:

Q: Can I rent a storage unit online?
Germantown:

Germantown:
• Climate-controlled units  
• Non-climate units  
• Covered parking (must be rented with a unit) • Note: No repairs or maintenance allowed onsite
Shelby Drive:
• Climate-controlled units  
• Non-climate units

Key Differences Between Climate & Non-Climate Units:
🌡️ Climate-Controlled Units maintain a consistent temperature range to help protect wood, electronics, photos, fabrics, and other sensitive items.
📦 Non-Climate Units are standard enclosed spaces ideal for items not affected by seasonal changes or humidity (e.g., outdoor equipment, metal tools, plastic storage, etc.).

🗓 Lease & Payment

Q: Am I required to store long-term?
No. All leases are month-to-month.

💳 What Payment Types Are Accepted?
We offer multiple payment options to suit your needs:
  • Cash – Accepted in office only. No bills over $20 if change is needed.
  • Credit/Debit Cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted online and in office, with cardholder authorization. Some prepaid cards may not be accepted.
  • Check – Accepted in office, drop box, or by mail with account holder authorization. We are not responsible for lost or delayed payments submitted by mail or drop box.
  • Money Order – Accepted in person, drop box, or by mail. Money orders are not accepted online and must be submitted directly to the office.
  • Text-to-Pay (Germantown Only) – A secure credit card link can be texted to you upon request. Payment must be completed by the cardholder using the link.
🔐 Reminder:
For security, card info not saved in system must be entered by the cardholder either:
  • Online through the portal,
  • Wiped in the office,
  • Submitted through the secure text link (Germantown only). We cannt accept new credit card details over the phone.
📌 Storage Towne reserves the right to refuse certain payment types (including checks and cards) if:
  • the account is more than 45 days past due,
  • there has been a returned payment,
  • the account has been terminated by Storage Towne,
  • or if there are other account-related concerns.

💰 Late Payment Policies

Q: What happens if I miss a payment?
📍 Germantown (3131 Hacks Cross Rd)
Rent Due: 1st of the month (partial payments not accepted)
Access Denied: 2nd at 12:01 AM
Late Fee: $10 on the 6th (per TN Code § 66-31-104(c))
Lien Fee: $75 at 45 days past due
Lock Cut Fee: $20 after 50 days past due
Auction/Collections: After 60 days – includes $35 collection fee

Q: What documents are required to rent a unit?
Valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID)
For vehicle/trailer/boat storage at Germantown:  
• Proof of ownership (title, registration, bill of sale, or insurance)  


Q: Is insurance required?
Under Tennessee Code Annotated § 66-31-105, Occupants at Storage Towne of America have three options regarding protection of their stored property:

Option 1: Enroll in the Storage Towne Protection Plan ·
Choose to participate in our Monthly Rental Protection Plan:
o $2,000 coverage – $9.00/month
o $2,500 coverage – $10.00/month
o $3,000 coverage – $12.00/month
o $5,000 coverage – $20.00/month ·
This Protection Plan offers limited coverage for specified perils. It is not insurance and does not replace renter’s or homeowner’s insurance.
Option 2: Occupant May Purchase A Third-Party Insurance
· Decline our plan and purchase or maintain your own insurance coverage.
· Contact your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance provider to verify if offsite storage is included.
· Proof of alternate coverage may be requested at any time. Option 3: Occupant May Assume Full Risk (No Coverage)
· Decline all protection and assume full personal responsibility for your stored items.
· Storage Towne of America does not insure your property.
· We assume no liability for loss, theft, fire, water, mold, pests, or other damage.
· If you want coverage, you must provide your own.
Prohibited Items

Q: What items am I not allowed to store?
· Perishables (including food)
· Plants or animals
· Stolen or illegal goods
· Hazardous, flammable, or combustible items
· Liquids of any kind

🔒 Locks & Unit Security

Q: Do you provide a lock with my unit?
No, locks are not included but may be purchased in office.
🛡️ Disc locks (2¾") are strongly recommended for better security.
🛡️ Protection Plan tenants are required to use a disc lock. Germantown Only:
Staff apply a green or yellow tamper-proof sticker on each lock to verify the unit is secure. If missing, we will contact you for verification. 🗑 Dumpster Use

Q: Can I use the facility dumpster?
No. Due to misuse, dumpsters are for office use only. Tenants must remove all trash and unwanted items from the property. 📦 Move-Outs

Q: How do I move out of my storage unit?
· A 10-day written notice is required before vacating
· 🔓 All items must be removed and the lock taken off by the last day of the month
· Failure to do so will result in charges for the next month

Yes! We actually encourage all customers to view the facility in person. Touring the property allows you to see our security features, meet our staff, and confirm you're selecting the right unit size before moving in. Walk-ins are welcome during office hours. Q: Do you provide moving trucks or carts?
We do not offer moving trucks. Carts are available at Germantown for interior units.
